About Sebastien Lyons

Sebastien Lyons is a Franco-American artist whose practice bridges the worlds of painting, sculpture, and spatial design. His work explores the interplay between geometry, color, and structure, drawing from architectural influences and mid-century modern aesthetics. Raised between two cultures, Lyons weaves a visual language that reflects duality, navigating the space between logic and intuition, chaos and control, precision and play. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California, where he continues to investigate the expressive potential of form and color in three dimensions.
Artist Statement
"Balance Through Chaos"
The pieces that I make explore the tension between structure and spontaneity, as well as symmetry and individuality. Each shape and color represents a thought, a feeling, or a moment, layered over time, jostling for space, yet ultimately finding harmony in the whole. I am fascinated by the way order can emerge from apparent randomness, and how color, when unconstrained, can still form a conversation with space.
The circular elements are moments of pause and meditative intervals in the rhythm of life. Their uniformity contrasts with the irregularity of the surrounding blocks, suggesting both unity and contrast in the human experience.
Situated between sculpture, painting, and design, my work engages the viewer on a sensory level and is activated by shifts in light, movement, and spatial awareness.
